Compassion is one of our values that we try to live by. I once read ”give gifts because it increases love” and we found it to be true. Whether friends, family, or strangers.
As you probably know, period poverty is not exclusive to third world countries. Menstruators experience it right here on our doorstep too! I have heard several stories through my activism, from people using rolled up socks, to rolled tissue, newspaper, their babies nappies, old rags, towels and more.
”According to a survey of more than 1,100 young girls and women aged between 12 and 19 years by Plan International Ireland, nearly 50 per cent of Irish teenage girls find it difficult to afford sanitary products. Some 109 of the young women who participated in the survey said they were forced to use a ‘less suitable sanitary product’ because of the high monthly cost involved”.
Every menstruator deserves to feel clean and fresh during their period. We would love to provide pads to those who come forward to us in need of protection, but are unable to purchase due to their circumstances.
Whether this be through social media or in person when I am out and about doing my activism they will be required to answer a few questions and of course, it will be based on trust.
But as with everything it comes with a price. So if you would like to assist with this initiative, I am making it easier for us all. By selecting this, you are putting money towards the materials that will be used for the gifts of pads. Please contact us if you would like to know more details!
May the Universe forever be in your favour.
